Financial Analyst - Hybrid (Atlanta)

Department: Finance/Accounting - 2000
Location: Atlanta, GA

Reporting to the Trade Finance Manager, this role will primarily support the Sales department by delivering insights into financial performance and accruals. The incumbent will perform quantitative analyses related to budgets, expenses, and other financial initiatives within public or private institutions. Responsibilities also include supporting evaluations of customer profitability, promotional effectiveness, and product line performance. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for developing and approving customer pricing models and program structures.

Candidates must reside in the Atlanta area to be considered for this role.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Provides analytical support and communication to the Sales organization, focusing on customer, promotion, and product line profitability.

  • Provides analytical and communication support to the Sales team related to customer, promotional, and product line profitability.
  • Schedules and leads monthly meetings with Sales to review financial performance and key metrics.
  • Assists with demand planning efforts to help ensure accurate, forward-looking forecasts.
  • Reviews Invoice-to-Net (I:N) spend, comparing it against budget and prior year figures, and works with Sales to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensures I:N spend is accurately and appropriately accrued in partnership with the Sales department.
  • Supports the identification of cost-saving opportunities and more efficient promotional strategies to drive profitability.
  • Prepares presentation materials for the Sales department's bi-monthly Business Review meetings

Assists with financial activities involving customer promotions, rebate programs, contract administration, and related reporting.

  • Supports financial processes related to customer promotions, rebate programs, contract management, and financial reporting.
  • Reviews and approves check requests in Salesforce to ensure accurate payment to customers for promotions and rebates.
  • Reviews spending and financials tied to contracts with brokers, customers, and distributors, and obtains necessary approvals and signatures.
  • Calculates and compiles monthly commission payments owed to brokers.
  • Maintains a comprehensive Contract Tracker to provide clear visibility into contract liabilities by customer.
  • Collaborates with Accounts Receivable during month-end close to accurately log and report customer deductions.
  • Ensures the accuracy of customer pricing by validating internal forecasting data against actual orders received.
  • Supports Accounts Receivable and Deduction teams in categorizing and resolving deduction-related issues.
  • Identifies and drives process improvement initiatives within the Finance function as needed.

Education/Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and standard auditing practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
